Research Interest

Many complex diseases, such as asthma, have long been recognized as heterogeneous, complex syndromes, both clinically and pathogenetically. In past studies, we observed that, across subgroups, asthma-associated clinical features varied dramatically, and medication uses were very different. Based on the identification of disease subgroups, we hope to design an individualized diet program to assist in the prevention and treatment of diseases. So we went through algorithm development for analyzing multi-dimensional big health data focus on discerning subtypes of complex diseases (using comorbidity pattern recognition and multi-omics data analysis), parsing their underlying genetic bases, and illuminating the tripartite relationship among human digestive systems, microbiota therein, and food nutrition. This work will provide theoretical support for both the diagnosis and treatment of complex chronic diseases and the development of the individual nutritional design.
