  课题组长介绍:

  向勇, 研究员,博士生导师。植物基因组研究中心副主任,绿色超级稻分子设计和全基因组育种首席科学家,中国农业科学院“青年英才”和深圳海外高层人才获得者。主要研究领域为种子休眠与萌发的机理研究及应用。研究成果在The Plant Cell,Plant Physiology,Current Opinion in Plant Biology等学术期刊发表。

  Dr. Yong Xiang, Principal Investigator,deputy director of Center for Plant Genomics Research, chief scientist of Green Super Rice Molecular Design and Whole Genome Breeding Innovation Team. He has been honored “Young Talents of CAAS” and “Shenzhen Overseas Senior Talents”. His group mainly focuses on characterization of genes that control seed dormancy and germination and their applications in crops. And his research results were  published on the Plant Cell, Plant Physiology, Current Opinion in Plant Biology.

 

  研究方向:

  种子休眠与萌发的机理研究及应用。以水稻和拟南芥为研究对象,结合基因组学、遗传学、分子生物学等手段,克隆控制种子活力 (休眠、寿命和逆境萌发等)的功能基因(或QTL),并进行深入的生物学功能研究,阐明相关性状调控的分子机制,为直播稻的分子育种提供候选基因和理论基础。

  Xiang Lab focused on characterization genes control seed vigor (dormancy, longevity, and germination ability under stress conditions) in rice and Arabidopsis through genomics, genetics, molecular biology approaches, and their applications for direct seeding rice breeding.

 

  研究进展:

  1) 利用3K自然群体材料,结合基因型和田间表型通过GWAS分析,鉴定了11个与休眠性状显著关联的位点。利用重组自交系群体材料结合基因型和田间表型通过连锁分析,鉴定了7个与休眠性状紧密连锁的QTL位点(LOD>3)。目前正在进行相关位点的精细定位。

  2)通过突变体筛选和图位克隆鉴定控制种子休眠的新基因Reduced Dormancy5RDO5)。RDO5编码一个胚乳特异表达PP2C蛋白磷酸化酶。RDO5突变使得种子休眠完全丧失,超表达RDO5显著提高种子休眠。

  1) Genome-wide association study (GWAS) seed dormancy loci in rice using re-sequenced 3000 rice germplasm and recombinant inbred lines.

  2) Reduced Dormancy 5 (RDO5), a novel gene that controls seed dormancy, was identified through the mutagenesis screen and map-based cloning in Arabidopsis. RDO5 encodes a nuclear-localized PP2C protein phosphorylase. The loss-of-function of RDO5 caused complete loss of seed dormancy, and overexpression of RDO5 significantly increased seed dormancy.
